Bohemia Interactive have announced the minimum specs for their upcoming military simulation, Arma 3. With our recent article showing the new lighting system you may be expecting that you need a bit of a heavy weight machine to play the game. We dont think its too bad actually.
The biggest surprise is not really the specs but the fact that the game will be DX10 only and that there is no longer any Windows XP support. I was hoping the game would have taken advantage of DX11 features but alas, its DX10. Not only that, there will be no support for DX9 either. No real surprise as majority of gamers have moved on from XP now.
To play ArmA 3 you will need a dual-core CPU with 2GB of RAM, 15GB of free disk space and as a minimum a Nvidia 8800GT or an ATI Radeon HD 3830.

Minimum Specs:
OS: Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1
CPU: Intel Dual-Core 2.4 GHz or AMD Dual-Core Athlon 2.5 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT or ATI Radeon HD 3830 or Intel HD Graphics 3000 with Shader Model 4 and 512 MB VRAM
RAM: 2 GB
HDD: 15 GB free space
DirectX: 10
