It looks like the game is getting closer and closer now as the Trine 2 artists have finished up their work and now its down to the polish before the game gets launched. To show off the new engine Frozenbyte have just released a new trailer which shows how much work gone into the atmosphere and music int he game.
The Steam game giveaway has just finished with the polls counted and the results in! Kytan from our forums was the winner with the best post for the month chosen by the other forum members. He received a free copy of…
I love the Max Payne series. I still remember jumping around in bullet time on the original Xbox, exploring the gritty city atmosphere and enjoying the great story line. Max Payne 2 was a worthy follow up and after a long enough drought, it looks like Max Payne 3 has been confirmed by Rockstar Games for a March 2012 Launch.
When a developer says that the aim of their game is to ” just make the game work well with modern PC gaming habits, windowed mode support, alt-tab support, graphics and control options, a permanent online download link, no splash screens, and no online drm.” How can you not be interested and not want to support them?
I love simulation games. Whether its building cities and their roads, getting the railroads up and running in the 1800′s, racing around a track or flying through the air, I love them all. Recently I came across World of Planes from the makers of Wings of Prey a bit of a different spin on the WWII flight sim games as its being touted as a MMO\ persistent world experience rather than the single player sim game.
The Witcher 2 had its share of Muslim controversy when it decided to pull the sajadah from its game, the incident itself being the catalyst for me to buy the game. I have had it sitting on my shelf for a few months due to being on holidays and then Ramadan coming into effect. So after finally spending some time with Geralt, here is some news on sales, first impressions and some not so good news for ATI video card owners.
Ill admit, I’m mainly a PC gamer. I have had some feedback that there needs to be more console news on here. So here is my effort in regards to pleasing you console Muslim Gamers. Football games are on of those things that are just better on a console, even I know that one. I remember buying it for the PC and it just didn’t have the same feeling. You need your Chai, chips some friends with Fifa going to really enjoy it. So with the new Fifa 12 announcement comes a new Fifa Trailer!
As the release date of the two FPS titans gets closer I’m sure we are going to be seeing even more videos and screenshots released as they fight for our money and decision as to which game we will get, if not both anyway. With Call of Duty XP just passed there is a bunch of new information out there, so without further adieu..
The closest I have got to the Warhammer Universe was Warhammer Online. Great game, but unfortunately completely and utterly unsupported by the devs and has been on its way out for a while now. So when I came across the Space Marine demo I thought I would give it a try. I loved it.
I have a soft spot for the Turkish brothers from Crytek. As a result I have a soft spot for the Crysis games too. So the latest bit of news Im pretty sure isn’t what they want to be on the front page for. An anonymous blogger who claims to be\have been an employee has gone on a dummy spit about Crytek. Citing working conditions, layoffs, office space and more.
Every now and then I found a pocket of the internet that makes me smile. Something that makes me say mashaAllah, something that makes me appreciate Islamic culture and Muslims just that little bit more. El-Seed has one of those sites and has those skills. Its not often I wish i lived on the other side of the world but this is one of those times. Id love to meet El-Seed and have a chat with him to find out more about him, but for now it will have to be made up of appreciating his beautiful artwork from here.
I have only just finished a post about DLC gouging gamers pockets when this news item turns up. Call of Duty’s Elite pack is asking you to fork out $50 a year to enjoy the benefits. Is it worth it and what do you get?
Well here we are again, another conversation about DRM. Im sure some of the readers on Muslim Gamer are sick of me going on about DRM, but its one of those things I strongly believe that the gaming industry needs to get right. The latest bit of DRM news is from an interview with Driver developer Martin Edmonson in regards to PC piracy and the Driver game. Ubisoft is out to defend their always on, always connected DRM which has had a lot of gamers in arms about their policy. So here we go again…
Deus Ex: Human Revolution no doubt has been a pretty big hit. The game hasn’t even been out for long and already new DLC has been announced on the Deus Ex blog. There aren’t many details out about the DLC yet and the blog post is pretty vague. From what we know so far, it will fill in three days of the storyline where Adam is trapped on a freighter with his augmentations left disabled. As for DLC, I know it has been said a million times before but ill add my voice to the broken record.
Ramadan is over for another year, while that is a sad point in the year, there is time to be happy with Eid! Due to the celebrations Muslim Gamer hasn’t been updated for a day or two but it will be back in full force updated with all the news again shortly. JazakAllah for sticking around and again Eid Mubarak! For those not aware, Ramadan is the holiest month in the Islamic Calendar. It is the month in which the Quran, the Holy book of Muslims, began to be brought down to Muhammad (PBUH).
Gustav Halling the gameplay designer for Battlefield 3 made an interesting tweet earlier today in regards to spawn points. All speculation at this stage as we only have the tweet to go off but it looks like there may be a change to the way we spawn in BF3.
I made a post about 30 Mosques last week, a great site where 2 brothers travel across America visiting 30 mosques in 30 days. Last time i highlighted Brother Ali’s interview and this time I wanted to shine some light on Freeway.
With the 2011 Hajj season not too far away I am onto part 2 of my Hajj experience. In the first post I ran through Umrah and my first few days after arriving in Saudi Arabia. This time inshAllah I will run through the actual Hajj pilgrimage with a lot more photos and videos.
When I look at the Muslim Gamer Steam Group, one thing I notice is how many people play Counter Strike. I guess with so many around the world playing CS and CSS the new news on CS:Global Offensive will be very interesting to a lot of gamers, there’s now new information on maps, weapons and a new trailer.
Thulfiqaar from our community posted a review\write up on our Muslim Gamer Forums earlier today. Personally I hadn’t heard of the game before nor played it, but after reading through his post I thought it might actually be one of those great games thats slipped under the radar. So others don’t miss out either, he has given us the OK to post the write up here on the main page. Thanks Thulfiqaar!

Kim Swift the co creator of Portal, left Valve about a year and a half ago. The reason? To work on a new title with her own team at Airtight Games. Well with PAX news already starting to come in Quantum Conundrum has hit the interwebs with more info.
Team Fortress turns 15 today! So its time for a birthday party with Team Fortress 2! Looks like the guys at Valve are celebrating by giving away a bunch of free stuff in game! So to get your party hat, noisemaker, cakes and gifts make sure your on Tf2!
Well there was a little game recently released by Ubisoft called “From Dust”. I was actually pretty interested in the game and was looking forward to playing it. However, soon after launch the internet kind of went wild with that whole DRM thingy. Ubisoft DRM is nasty… very nasty. Prior to launch they assured gamers that the game would not require the “Always On DRM”, but instead a one time only activation. Gamers who pre-ordered the game found out soon after that the game in fact did require an internet connection, every time you started the game. Well now Ubisoft has just changed their minds again…
The Muslim Gamer Forums are almost ready to go, so to help kick things off we have decided to do a bit of a Eid giveaway We are giving away a single FREE Steam Game of your choice! Entry is easy so read on to get more details!
Im sure you know about Portal 2, so I wont waste your time with that. What I will do though, is waste 3 minutes and 58 seconds of your life so you can watch this very, very cool Portal 2 Map. Sit down because it gets very weird.
When I say Nvidia, you say PC graphics right? Well, not anymore apparently. From now on when I say Nvidia, you’re mean to not only say PC graphics but also mobile and tablet. According to Nvidia, mobile gaming will be bigger than PC gaming for them in the future! GASP!
If you have been following the news about Wikileaks over the last day or so you would have heard about DDB – Daniel Domscheit-Berg. There was talk that DDB, a former Wikileaker who was given the responsibility of keeping selected backups for Wikileaks, was going to destroy the server data that he took with him when he left. Well now it turns out that he has destroyed it.
Now if I said Muslim Gamer was at Gamescom 2011…id be lying. So the best we can do for you is give you a roundup of the news! As a Muslim in the month of Ramadan, I’m trying to be as pious as I can during this month and focus on things that aren’t all gaming. So as the big news hits all the mags and sites across thew world, rather than doing lots of little updates, ill do some round ups so I can do my Iftar and get to Taraweeh and you can read all about Gamescom 2011 news.
I have been chatting away with some of the admins of the larger Muslim steam groups to see if I can get some free promotions on their announcement pages. Several asked why we didn’t have a steam group? Good question…
Any PC gamer will know, the PC was the king of games for years with W-A-S-D ruling the world of video games. It seems as though now we have become the forgotten child in the gaming family, the child locked away in the basement that a lot of developers wont talk about or introduce to their guests when friends come over for dinner. Apparently the reason is that there isn’t enough money in PC gaming and\or that piracy is strife in the PC world. Personally, both arguments are a bit of you kn ow what. Especially when there are developers like Steam who seem to be making more than enough money from their PC customers. I take a look at piracy and video games, the halal side of downloading software and games and Epic games latest announcement from Gamescom.
Well it looks like Valve has been busy! Not only did they announce the Steam trading beta the other day but now it looks like its in full swing DOTA 2 news time. With Gamescom on and all the publishers fighting for press time, Valve have put up a new trailer and a 1 million dollar tournament.
Wow… just wow. I could sit here and tell you all about Battlefield 3 and how great it will be and how much I am looking forward to it, but in all honesty, there is no time for empty talk…just watch the trailer…
I have received a few emails from brothers asking about Muslim Gamer forums. I was planning on getting some forums up but to be honest, not till the site had matured a bit more, we are still in the baby\beta stage here. I can understand the need though, in a way its the whole reason I set this site up. I was browsing through some other forums to see how many other Muslim Gamers and Games there are out there and I came across a situation I felt pretty bad about.
