I never thought I would see this one. Niko Bellic doing Jamaat salaat together with Altair from Assassins Creed, in Grand Theft Auto, in Indonesia. Yep, you read that right. Take a just a couple of those words and put them into a sentence and you would be questioning what I just said, let alone all of them together.
Now this doesn’t exactly make GTA an Islamic game or increase the games halalability by any means, but it does make for an interesting and original video that’s for sure.
Praying in GTA
On my hunt for some Muslim developers of both Islamic Games and games in general I somehow stumbled across this GTA Indonesia Mod. I started looking through at what the mod entailed and came across a couple of videos where he has imported game characters from several different games into GTA and added a bunch of Islamic content. I’m not going to get into the how, the why or how Islamic or un-Islamic inserting this into Grand Theft Auto is, ill leave that up to you to discuss.
Getting Whudu in GTA Game
So heres the first video. In this one he shows the the character with a nice little takkiya getting off their speedboat and onto their horse and cart (0.15) ?? At 1.35 Rikku from Final Fantasy is in GTA trying to pray, but as she is not appropriately dressed for prayer apparently she cant pray, so it skips to CJ who isn’t appropriately dressed either. So with the magic of mods, he changes outfits and starts his prayer going to ruku and sajde. At 1.50 he shows how enemies stop attacking you when you stand for salaat and later in the video he also shows how you can get wudu before you start your prayer.
However the icing on the cake, and oh my goodness, I have never seen icing so thick, is this video where Altair is leading the prayer with the jamaat made up of Niko Bellic, Carl Johnson, Tommy Vercetti and Claude Speed. In the Same video he also has Geralt of Rivia (The Witcher), Kain (Soul Reaver) and several other game characters in it too.
