For any Muslim out there, daily discrimination is nothing new. You kind of grow used to it and just take it as it is. At some point in your life you have actively done something about it, but then you just kind of let it slip by you again. It is not from not wanting to change the many incorrect perceptions about Muslims and Islam, its about getting worn down by the complete ignorance of others and the unwillingness to learn something new or accept that what they know about Islam is actually Incorrect. So when I came across this video of some brothers and sisters in America going up against Pamela Geller, I thought it was worth posting.
If you are unaware of who Pamela Geller is, its probably better you don’t know.. But for the sake of clarity, a la Wikipedia,
Pamela Geller (born June 14, 1958) is an American blogger, author, political activist, and commentator. She is known primarily for her criticisms of Islam and opposition to Muslim activities and causes, such as the proposed construction of an Islamic community center near the former site of the World Trade Center. She has described her blogging and campaigns in the United States as being against what she terms “creeping Sharia” in the country.
Geller and Robert Spencer co-founded the Freedom Defense Initiative and Stop Islamization of America, an organization which is labeled as a hate group by the Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center. Geller and Spencer also co-authored the book The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration’s War on America.
So I am sure that gives you a good idea who she is and what she stands for.
Her latest adventure into stopping “Sharia Law creeping into America” was last week when she held the “Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference” in Dearborn, Michigan. 
If you are not aware of the name, Jessica Mokdad is a sister that recently passed away (Inna lillahi wa inna lillahi rajiun). According to Geller and friends it was an honor killing, according to the local prosecutor it was not. Her family has also stepped up against Geller accusing her of using their daughters name to further Geller’s Islamaphobic cause.
So Omar Baddar, Omar Tewfik and some other Muslim sisters decided they would attend the conference to see what it was all about. They tried to register prior to the event and were told there was no room, but of course while waiting to enter, others that werent registered freely walked into the event. Amazing hey. At one point int he video, they are even told that they are on a “No Enter” list. Its a great video and well worth watching. Good to see that there are still many Muslims willing to change the incorrect perceptions of Muslims and Islam.
