When I came across this I wasnt really to sure what to expect. A movie about games? Looks like failure waiting to happen was my initial thought. Then I watched the trailer. I have changed my mind.
For those that are in to gaming, you really do enjoy what comes with it. The games, the friendships, the complaining and bickering, the anticipation of new games and so on and so forth. Movies though never really seem to hit the same note. There have been so many failures oin the past that the two havent really ever mixed well together.

The only other movie (I should really be calling them documentaries) which I could say I enjoyed was The King of Kong : Fistful of Quarters from 2007 and now, I am hoping I can add Indie Game: The Movie to that list. The documentary follows the guys behind Braid, Super Meat Boy and Fez as they go through years of pain and joy to complete and release their games.
It looks like Steam is getting behind it too which is good to see, though I would recommend getting it direct from their site as that way more funds go direct to the guys behind the flick and also, the best part, its DRM FREE!!! I have included the trailer below, see what you think. Indie Game: The Movie will be available worldwide come June 12. Pre order is $9, $10 once its released.
