Dragon Age 1 or 2?

Has anyone played these games?
I am thinking of picking it up next time its on sale as ive heard lots of good about 1 but bad about 2, any thoughts?

I'm also thinking of getting those two. I heard the second one was not as good as the first one.

Well I haven't played the second one but my brother has and he said it's really good. The reason why people talk bad about Dragon Age 2 is because it's very different from Dragon Age 1.

Dragon Age is the Spiritual Successor of Baldur's Gate and you can see that in the combat and the story telling. You could choose to play as different races.
In Dragon Age 2, you play as Hawk, a human. You don't get to choose any race and everything is verbally spoken, kind of Like Mass Effect. The reason they did that is to give the Paragonist more of a personality. The biggest reason why people don't like Dragon Age 2 is because of the combat. It is nothing like the Combat in Dragon Age 1. But just because it's different doesn't make it bad.

I played the demo for Dragon Age 2 and it felt really good, it's unfortunate that they didn't choose to stick to the same play style as baldurs gate but it's still a great game. Anyway, I highly recommend playing the first Dragon Age because of how deep it is and the customisation. If you enjoyed it, then get the second one as well

lot of people say that DA2 is bad
but it think its not that bad
i play 1, origins and 2 and i say 2 is worth your time

omg im so annoyed...

Impulse had the pack with both games for $20, the problem is i needed a US IP to get it for that price. By the time I figured out how to trick my computer into giving me an american IP the sale had finished...

So now I need to wait for the next sale when both Dragin Age 1 and 2 are for sale. If you see it let me know

lol I preordered dragon age 1 and i just bought dragon age 2 yesterday. I thought I'd treat myself since it's eid and all.

and you know what, I'm loving dragon age 2! What I do regret not seeing is, Dragon Age 2 doesn't have a toolset to custom create content like Dragon age 1.
It's like they went a completely different direction. Almost an entirely new game! Doesnt' make it a bad game though, just a shame they didn't keep the same trend.

I thought the Ultimate edition had 1 and 2, it turns out that its just 1 with all the expansion packs... looks like im waiting for the 1 and 2 bundle pack now. Unless ofcourse Thulfiqaar tells me I should get it it because its so good

lol, you got loads of games to keep you occupied so make sure you play those as well but imho Dragon Age is one of my favourite games. If you love RPG's then it's on you shouldn't miss.

true it was unique and I have to admit that I do miss the style of dragon age 1, but that doesn't mean dragon age 2 is bad

lol, you got loads of games to keep you occupied so make sure you play those as well but imho Dragon Age is one of my favourite games. If you love RPG's then it's on you shouldn't miss.

I know I just loaded up Witcher 2 last night and started playing that, im going to put up a quick 2 minute Initial thoughts post on the front page.

Yeah I am impressed that you are even able to do all that at once lol. I'll try to make more content such as reviews, but i need to complete a game first lol. And reviewing an old game that I finished months or years ago won't be good of course. Anyway, provided I get more time I will work on some more reviews etc.

in my opinion both are good games,
DA 1 have better story and great character interaction.
DA 2 focus more on the fast paced action rpg. and character growth.

DA1 was a masterpiece, a game that had a huge game world a brilliant story and fantastic characters.....than Bio ware were bought by EA, and DA2 was rushed with console gaming in mind (kind of what happened with Mass Efffect 2). Its by no means a bad game but compared to the original its a poor relation, but I would suggest you pick it up when its cheap as both game characters can be imported into DA3 when that's released
