UFO Games

Has anyone played the "UFO" series of games (seems X-COM like)? They're currently on sale for $5 each. Screenshots look moderately interesting. I haven't purchased a game since, uh, 199x... (Brood Wars)

only heard good stuff but I only played one version and I didn't really enjoyed it but apparently the one I played was the worst one out of them, so yeah.
