    Project C.A.R.S

    Postby Dabbaba » 07 Mar 2012, 12:52

I know it seems like I suddenly fell in love with the sim genre, but actually, I was just looking for a PC equivalent of the PS3's Gran Turismo racing sim, when all of a sudden I was bombarded with some AWESOME SIMS!

So I talked about Take on Helicopters, which was awesome. I also played the GTR evolution demo, and that was just fantastic! It takes practise to get the curves right, but when you master the track (which is the only track in the demo :P) you get this amazing sense of accomplishment. Very similar to how you feel when you play Gran Turismo.

The only thing I think would be different is the amount of cars and modifications available for each car that gives Gran Turismo an edge. Although, I'm not sure if this is the case or if the demo just doesn't give you the full picture. In the demo, you drive some pretty sweet looking super cars; nothing I can recognize. Yet, in Gran Turismo you get this gigantic array of models and makes. You could most likely drive your actual, irl, car! Unless you drive something like a Lada. :o

When I was looking online for a GT equivalent for the PC, there was a lot of talk about a game coming out soon called Project C.A.R.S, so I thought I'd peek into youtube and check out the gameplay, graphics, etc, etc. I WAS DAZZLED.

I hit submit then preview really quickly after and thought the first one didn't get submitted.

Nah, just kidding. I knew no one would be interested in project cars so I thought of a way to attract discussion.

I fail at posting stuff and lying it seems.

WOW! After reading all those features - the ones in your other post - I'd say this is gonna be even better than GT!
Assuming that they include enough cars! GT has 1000+ cars. :P
And the driving should be great of course. OBVIOUSLY. :P
I'd love to see how it turns out!
Any idea on when it's going to be released?

Only thing it says is sometime in 2012. Glad to see another GT fan here. It's a good change from the regular trolls making fun of my inability to post correctly.

so that's where i saw it before!
Although now that I think of it I don't think it'll do as good as GT.
I don't want to drive Super cars and racing cars.
If you play GT you would know that half the fun is buying cars. regular cars. and one of the greatest moment is finding that super rare car in the used car dealership! and then going online and showing off your new awesome car.

What I understood from Project CARS is that they will have a HUUUGE selection of cars. In fact, in story mode, you start as a GO-kart racer and progress to different races. I also saw a trailer featuring the Audi A4, I think.

A4 racing model? All the videos i've seen have weird and super cars. it's too early to make any assumptions though.

    salaam guys,

I have been involved in project CARS since Oct 2011 (and even before at nogripracing (dot) com). You can probably expect project CARS to be a more polished version of Need for Speed Shift 2 (more polished as in more optimized for wheel/pedal controls, better graphics, better AI, better online play etc.)

Let me know if you have any questions, I have posted some videos on my YT account (search for 'mrn4s'). This game is targeting release for summer 2013, there's still a lot of development going on right now.
