I really don't mind if you aren't that good. All I ask is that you don't ditch me, effectively making the game 3 or 4v5 and impossible to win. Skill comes with time and getting used to gameplay; LoL just has a steeper learning curve than other games because it DEMANDS that you know your own strengths/weaknesses and play accordingly.
I'm only level 6, and still a bit of a noob myself. But even with my noobiness, I have been able to learn some of the strengths/weaknesses of my character and net some solid wins. It just takes a little strategy, timing, and teamwork.
Most beginners have a hard time for the following reasons:
(0) They don't test the limits of their favorite or other free characters, they don't adjust to changes during the game. (this is point zero because it is pretty much a prerequisite to playing against the better AI's and experienced players)
(1) They often fight without minion/friendly support
(2) They retreat to base for healing/buying items during the early stages instead of toughing it out longer
(3) They are running after weakened heroes, hoping to get a kill, and end up being swarmed/ganked/turretted to death
(4) They try to do things that their hero/build does not promote (ie. a melee assassin trying to tank/tanking with damage items instead of def/mag resist/hp)
(5) they underestimate their opponents and get ganked
(6) they play as a group of solo players instead of as a team (the way it is meant to be played)
(7) they try to take on a turret without minion meat shields and rage because they are sick of dying
and most importantly...
(8) they forget that the object of the game is to push and capture, NOT to kill heros and level up to 18
Once you get the hang of it, it's actually quite fun, even if you aren't an RTS geek.
