Yeah I like that one as well, it's unique. Kind of reminds me of Meat boy art style

After much too long, here's today's "offering" (as in, what I can offer you, not as in sacrifical offering):

    Image

As the dA description says, I experimented with a proper background (kelp, anyone?), changing the line colour in a few strategic places, and, um, working on the composition (overall shapes/layout before doing much colouring).

Alhamdulillah, it came out much better than I expected :) you guys should see the first draft (lines and flat colour), it almost made me cry :P

I actually really like that too, nice work ashes. Its the shield thing on the head that makes it. If it didnt have that it would be a bit more on the plain side, the cool factor comes from the shield :)

@gengis you're right, that's really the centerpiece of this piece. Funny how I never noticed that before :)

    @saqib7 @gengis it's neither shield nor armour; it's a visor. See: http://images.google.com/search?tbm=isc ... 03l2-3l3l0

    LOL.

    You guys are hilarious.

(I'm not going to ask if you're joking or not :))

@gengis I looked at it again after your comment, it could actually be a shield that's "coincidentally" obfuscating the face.

    First. 3D. Evar.

    Image

Made in blender, comments are in the dA page: http://ashiqalibhai.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4oujk0

    My review is (+ = strength, o = opportunity, - = fix)

+ Leather texture on the handle is awesome (my favourite)
    + Overall shape/composition is good
+ Final angle of the shot is actually not bad
    + Half-decent lighting
o Blade could be a bit more fancy, it's the centerpiece of most swords
    - Ball and hand-guard look lame, definitely need more work
    - Materials on ball and hand-guard, ditto.

    s: photo angle.
o: you could've added a little metal feel to the blade. a little shine.
f: you could've moved the golden ball a little higher to fill the gap. and center it, it's not really in the center of the handle.
the sword looks a bit cartoony. everything is big. looks more like a knife imo. i think u should change the texture of the wooden part.
