I was just playing Combat Mission: Afghanistan. I want to like the game, I really do. Unfortunately I can't say it's very good as a single player game. Multiplayer may be better but I'll never know; there's no master server of any kind.

I'm just trying out Mafia II, a game I bought...a long time ago but never got to it.

Looks pretty cool, cant wait to finish my current MW4 rerun before I commit myself to it.

It's like Men of War but on a larger scale. The opening mission of the Soviet campaign sticks you with 15 BMP-1s with troops of different classes where you are tasked with entering and taking a city, building my building.

Even on the highest setting, the game is rather hit and miss in difficulty. Missions in city areas require much more caution as they can be filled with snipers, units set up with squad weapons or snipers. After multiple retries, the best I could get on the first mission is having half my vehicles disabled or destroyed. Missions in wide open areas depends on either who has vehicles, who finds the other person first and if as the Soviets or as the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan army you have access to artillery barrages.

The games also hampered by rather poor GUI that does not scale in any way as your resolution goes higher. This is a nuisance because the GUI happens to be the only place to check the innumerate amount of keys you have in the game.

It's not a bad game. Besides the GUI, the only reason I haven't finished it since I bought it was last has been that I have habit of sending all my units to their deaths.

Maaaaaaan. I wish I had just been a damn Barb from the first. I decided to be a mage or wizard or whatever and now I STILL havent finished the game cuz its too boring...sigh. I dont know. I install it - play for like an hour and then uninstall it.

I prefer the Ranged woman to be honest. Got an awesome gun and I love the way it plays. plays so much like diablo 2 but better graphics. I have finished the game and admittedly it does get boring after a while. Just leave it and then come back to it later, and it will still be fun. I like Diablo clones though

lol I dont know. I wish it had multiplayer or some sort of co-op from the get go BUT Torchlight II is going to have ALL of that. Its nuts. Much bigger game and it'll be going on sale for $20 only. AGAIN. Well...at least as far as I remember. BUT I feel like Diablo 3 is going to get it all right. I cant wait for that game. It has everything I want...lol including the Auction House. I may just play to make money. Rofl.

I got torchlight after everyone was raving about it, i think i stopped playing a few hours in. Just felt to repetitive for me.

While the game is still at it's current price ($35), I'm going to say no. If it comes down to say $20 or less, I would say it's worth... the random scenario generator doesn't quite make up for the mediocre AI and terrible UI.

@bonelatch yeah I am anxiously awaiting Torchlight II because I know that will come out before Diablo 3 but I will definitely be playing Diablo 3 hardcore, and I want to make money out of it as well

Got some news today...they've delayed Torchlight 2 indefinitely. They say that they are almost done but that they dont know when they will release cuz they want to have a beta too. I think they're pulling a Blizzard on this one. lol maybe they're waiting for D3 to give away its release date so they can release at the same time and compete? rofl...
