    Dragon's Dogma

    Postby ZPE » 25 Mar 2012, 01:03

Anyone keeping tabs on this open-world fantasy RPG from Capcom? It's being made by the creators of Resi Evil 4 and DMC 4 for the PS3 and XBox 360 and due out at the end of May, this year.

I've seen plenty of game-play for the game and it looks great.

    Summarised mainly from Wikipedia:

+ 9 vocations announced so far: Fighter, Warrior, Mystic Knight, Strider, Ranger, Assassin, Mage, Sorcerer and Magic Archer (all customisable in appearance and gender)
+ MC accompanied by three AI-controlled party members
    + Climbable bosses!
+ Features a large city with over 200 NPCs, all with their own unique behaviours
    + Estimated play-time of 30 to 100 hours
+ The shadow element is interesting where it goes pitch black at night or in caves and you have to use lanterns to see your way around.
    - No multi-player co-op (a shame really)

Just hope Capcom don't kill off the game's appeal with on-disc DLC and/or day-one DLC which lock-out recruitable characters/classes. Really wanted someone else (with a better history of treating it's customers like humans rather than cash fodder) was in charge of published this game, oh well.

If Dark Souls, Kingdoms of Amalur, and Shadow of the Colossus had a child...

Looks really cool and fun. I really dislike how they call team members pawns... sounds really condescending.

Ive been watching since its debut and I thought it was amazing looking. The animations were so good. Im hoping its as good as it looks and that the story is good too.

After watching the OXM previews (below, I suggest you check them out) I am really pumped for this game. Its coming out at the same time as Max Payne 3 so I will probably get it after completing the game unless the reviews are really bad.

It will be interesting to see if all these games and companies that have shifted focus to console will make the shift back at any stage? For a while there console became the main game and then the PC became the port. This isn't even releasing n PC..

If Dark souls sells well i can see some shift back to PC games again throughout the next year or two.
