CCP, the developer behind the MMOFPS and EVE Online tie-in Dust 514, has usually shied away from questions regarding public beta testing for the game. However, during a GDC interview with Game Trailers, the company revealed that they’ll be hosting a public beta test in April for any and all interested gamers.
CCP doesn’t expect massive numbers to flock to this new PS3-exclusive Free-To-Play project, especially with the many that are already interested in the EVE universe through the space sandbox MMO EVE Online. Instead, it’s about introducing “this new gateway into the EVE universe for all the people who have been intrigued by it,” said Hilmar Petursson, CEO of CCP.
“In April we’ll open up the beta test we’ve been running since December of last year.”
