    Regarding madd, I thought the rule is that for Madd Muttussil, 4, 5, 6 counts, but if you stop on it, it must be 6.     I have heard to cupping before but never done it. Like KoubaDZ said it was something practiced by the Prophet (pbuh) so there obviously is a lot of benefit in it.
