I really hope not. The game has a lot of potential. As for making money, it's not that hard if you ask me, you just can't do it on your own. You need support from others. I used to have 3 accounts and the only reason I left is because of drama in the corp that I ran. I am looking forward to get back in to the game in January sometime. After the Battlefield addiction has died down a bit. Considering I have to monitors I might play both EVE and Starwars the Old Republic.
You can't deny that the idea of EVE Online and Dust 514 being connected is a very interesting and many people will give it a try old timers and new players a like. That will hopefully boost the population and maybe get people staying interested.
Plus Winter Expansion is coming up soon, fingers crossed!

CCP is crumbling - it suffers from amazing lag during it's advertised massive fleet battles, the industrial component of the game is broken beyond belief (ex: Empire safe-zoned miners being suicide ganked by bored pvp'rs in cheap ships), the currency is all jaked up as there are people with 100,000,000,000 units of currency - isk - and then you have lowbies that struggle to make 100 million. It's an aging game that is having a hard time keeping interest in its core group of older players - most of which own 2-3 accounts, some with many more. I forsee eve's pop numbers plumeting in the next 12 months, personally...I'll be one of those leaving too, once Starwars TOR comes out.
