Ramadan is over for another year, while that is a sad point in the year, there is time to be happy with Eid! Due to the celebrations Muslim Gamer hasn’t been updated for a day or two but it will be back in full force updated with all the news again shortly. JazakAllah for sticking around and again Eid Mubarak! For those not aware, Ramadan is the holiest month in the Islamic Calendar. It is the month in which the Quran, the Holy book of Muslims, began to be brought down to Muhammad (PBUH).
I made a post about 30 Mosques last week, a great site where 2 brothers travel across America visiting 30 mosques in 30 days. Last time i highlighted Brother Ali’s interview and this time I wanted to shine some light on Freeway.
With the 2011 Hajj season not too far away I am onto part 2 of my Hajj experience. In the first post I ran through Umrah and my first few days after arriving in Saudi Arabia. This time inshAllah I will run through the actual Hajj pilgrimage with a lot more photos and videos.

Any PC gamer will know, the PC was the king of games for years with W-A-S-D ruling the world of video games. It seems as though now we have become the forgotten child in the gaming family, the child locked away in the basement that a lot of developers wont talk about or introduce to their guests when friends come over for dinner. Apparently the reason is that there isn’t enough money in PC gaming and\or that piracy is strife in the PC world. Personally, both arguments are a bit of you kn ow what. Especially when there are developers like Steam who seem to be making more than enough money from their PC customers. I take a look at piracy and video games, the halal side of downloading software and games and Epic games latest announcement from Gamescom.

Brother Ali – The Champion! If you haven’t heard of Br Ali its best you YouTube that name right now. A site I have been keeping an eye on this Ramadan has posted an interview with Br Ali so I thought I would plug the site and the interview in one go here.
A father speaks of his sons death, David Cameron pokes the Anonymous wasp hive with his stick and CBS fires up with the attention grabbing headline of “Muslims’ deaths in UK riots widen ethnic rifts”. With the sad news of 4 deaths and billions of dollars of damage, is this an excuse for privacy and freedom to be swept aside once more?

Edit: Youtube has ended the live stream You can still watch the Ramadan live stream of Kaaba here.
With Ramadan here and a focus on some things that aren’t necessarily video gaming related I came across this YouTube link which seems to be a target=”_blank”> live stream from Mecca. An interesting look for non Muslims hopefully. If you are unsure on the significance of Mecca have a look at my pilgrimage to Mecca last year here.
Being Ramadan Im on the lookout for some wholesome things to read and watch about Islam rather than the non stop gaming im usually up to. Well to be honest more so watch as Im unbelievably lazy.. As I was looking around I came across this great video, as the title suggests, an agnostic Jew exploring the Quran.
Last night Anonymous added another task completed tick to their to do list by taking down the Syrian Ministry of Defense website. While they were there they defaced the site and left the attached image showing screenshots of videos by those involved in the uprising and a message to the people of Syria in both English and Arabic.
I was thinking about my next post and as going to put a story up about some tech stuff and I decided that with Ramadan 2011 here I would instead post about my Hajj Pilgrimage last year. I am hoping that it will be an interesting post for both the Muslims and Non-Muslims that might visit the site.
